Good job. I hate how the movie turned him into a speechless monster - he was actually one of the most complicated characters in Wake the Devil.

Yeah indeed he was, he was very intelligent, designing the device that open the portal to the ogdru jihad, and loads of other stuff too.
and i loved his dialogue in the comics too.

In the movie he was the one who designed the portal machine. He was also very influential in bringing the Ragna Rok project to a "reality". His intelligence is still there and is still a very complicated character, its sad how they didn't include all this background information in the movie but only in the special edition release.
